LAPEER PROSECUTOR ELECTED TO PROSECUTING

ATTORNEYS ASSOCIATION BOARD OF DIRECTORS 

 

    On August 13, 2004, Lapeer County Prosecutor Byron J. Konschuh was elected to the Board of Directors of the Prosecuting Attorneys Association of Michigan (PAAM).  He will serve a one-year term through July of 2005.  The Association recognized Konschuh for his commitment to the citizens of Lapeer County, his expertise in prosecution, and the integrity of his office.  Konschuh has been serving as Lapeer County Prosecutor since his election in 2001.

    PAAM President Stuart Dunnings stated that, "As an association, we need to continue to focus our attention on providing means for helping local prosecutors do their job.  Byron Konschuh epitomizes the committed prosecutor whose focus is on his local county."  Konschuh stated that, "I am honored to receive this vote of confidence from my peers.  I will continue to represent the best interests of the citizens of Lapeer County."

    The Prosecuting Attorneys Association of Michigan was established in 1929.  It is a voluntary association of Michigan's 83 County Prosecutors, the Michigan Attorney General, and the U.S. Attorneys serving in Michigan.  The primary purpose of the Association is to promote fair, swift, and equal justice, in the enforcement of the State's criminal law.  The Association further offers continuing education for prosecuting attorneys and other law enforcement officials.
